The Red Devils have endured a woeful end to the 2018/19 season with just two points from their final five matches of the Premier League campaign. This culminated with a 2-0 defeat to relegated Cardiff City at Old Trafford on Sunday.Solskjaer was only handed the full time job earlier this year after a successful stint as caretaker manager.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, to me, looked like a beaten man, Durham said on talkSPORT. Personally, I hope they stick with him and it all works out and we get Man United back at the top, competing and more of a challenge for City and Liverpool.Hands up whos confident that is going to happen? Because I cannot see it.Heres a prediction. If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stays and manages them by Christmas next season they will be in the bottom half of the table. Thats my view.Co-presenter Darren Gough believes their business in the off-season will determine what progress, if any, United will make next season. He said: I cant see them being in the bottom half of the table. I think it is evident they need to improve from these last 12 matches they have played. It all depends on the signings. I think that will come into play. They could lose the likes of Sanchez, who has not been great for them, Pogba. They could lose six or seven other senior players out there. We already know Mata, Herrera and Valencia are all going. Young could follow, Smalling and Jones as well. Theres so many who could leave.

Durham gave reason as to why he believes Solskjaers side will end up in the bottom half and the signs are not good.He added: I base it on this. The top five arent going to be below Manchester United. You then have Leicester, Wolves and Everton, who are on an upward trajectory and I dont see that changing any time soon.I dont see any players leaving them. I only see them getting better. Then youve got a few wild cards like West Ham and Crystal Palace, promoted clubs and Newcastle, who knows what is going to happen with their situation.Look at their results. They are bottom half results over the last few games. What on earth are Manchester United going to do to turn this around.
