Spurs do run the risk of the midfielder leaving on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires if they do not sell him during this window, or get him to sign a new deal. The north London club signed Eriksen for just 11million from Ajax in 2013 and he has gone on to be one of the top players in the Premier League.
